\n\t\tSuccessfully treat hormone imbalances\n\t<\/h2>\n\tIn pediatric endocrinology we deal with the examination and treatment of hormonal disorders in childhood and adolescence.\nHormonal diseases can be congenital or genetic in nature. Hormonal diseases include, for example, thyroid disorders, growth disorders or disease of the growth hormone, disorders of the adrenal gland and sex hormones.\nOne of the most common issues is the Growth<\/strong>. Questions arise about the height of the children, as well as the final height as an adult. During the consultation, we will find out together whether there are any abnormalities in your child and whether appropriate clarifications and therapies need to be continued.\n

One issue of high importance is the Onset of puberty<\/strong> and the associated question of whether the child is already in puberty? What happens if puberty has not yet begun, although the first changes are already noticeable in the child's friends? We clarify these and other questions about physical and mental changes in connection with puberty in an individual consultation.<\/p>\n

There are different Syndromes<\/strong>associated with a hormone disorder. These include, for example, Turner syndrome, Klinefelter syndrome, Kallemann syndrome, Noonan syndrome and Prader Willi syndrome. If necessary, we will be happy to clarify whether a hormone disorder or syndrome is present and address this together with a suitable therapy.<\/p>\n

In children who were too small or too light at birth (so-called small for gestational age or SGA for short<\/strong>), an additional examination and consultation at Youkidoc is recommended. In connection with SGA, growth disorders or even premature physical development (adrenarche) may occur. In endocrinology, various endocrine glands are examined depending on the symptoms and complaints. These include the thyroid gland, adrenal glands, pancreas, ovaries and testicles. We tailor the examination specifically to your child.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\tWhat are endocrinological diseases?\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t

Endocrinological disorders include thyroid disorders, adrenal dysfunction, growth disorders, pubertal disorders, and general hormonal disorders.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\tWe have a family history of thyroid dysfunction (Hashimoto's, Graves' diseases). Are these diseases often inherited? How can we protect our child? And how do we recognize in time whether our child also has a thyroid dysfunction? \t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t

Certain hormone disorders can be autoimmune and can then also be inherited. In the consultation, we can discuss individually whether this risk exists and how a clarification can look. In addition, we can also talk about prevention and therapy options.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\tMy husband and I are both not very tall, we would like our son to grow optimally. Height is inherited, but sometimes large or small grandparents can still have an influence. In the consultation we can discuss what size is 'normal' for the family and where the individual size lies. Increased body hair can occur under the influence of hormones, in which case further examination or further clarification is advisable.
